Hi

You might want to turn your drive to a 832s (Warning! warranty will be voided). I did it and I didnt have any problems - more an improvement of the overall functionality ^^. Latest firmware for 832s is VS0G/CG5G.

hi m8

You can check your results with Kprobe 2.4.2 BLER scans(scanned at 4x scan speed the forum standard for comparison). You can read Interpreting PI/PO error scansto find out what these graphs mean. PI/PO is now referred to as PI/PIF Attaching disc quality scans to your post of the offending discs will help us help you.

Kept having read problems with commercial dvd’s…but only after upgrading the firmware on the 812s to USOQ… the drive would never spin up to the faster DVD speed I used to hear. Very rarely would a disc that refused to read suddenly be recognized and usuable. Decided that the new firmware upgradge may have been the problem, so re-flashed with an older version, USON. Voila’! Suddenly I have no problems recognizing and reading all the commercially produced DVDs I had been having problems with. Don’t have a good guess as to why, but – for me, the newest firmware seemed to have compatibility issues with my Emachines XP machine. Don’t really care why, just glad this down-flash solved my problems.

i had the same problems http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=139037
had some pressed discs readable only with 812s firmwares 05..0N and not readable by 812s 0Q and all known 832`s firmwares

@code*: can you do somethink with this
