Sonic foundry has released version 5.0 of its professional CD mastering software. It is fully red book compliant and can edit audio and burn DAO CDs as a standalone application. Harmony Central said this:

Version 5.0 has been re-engineered as a stand-alone application and provides comprehensive audio CD production tools available for creating Red Book CD pre-masters suitable for professional replication. CD Architect utilizes disk-at-once burning technology (DAO) that lets users create CDs with variable times between tracks and provides the ability to create overlapping crossfades between audio events. Users can arrange projects with an intuitive drag-and-drop Windows interface, select from multiple takes within each audio event, create live style CDs with audio between tracks, and even place hidden tracks on the CD. |
