Smart Ripper and DVD Decrytper are Ripping Very Slowly

For some reason, DVD Decrypter and Smart Ripper are running very slowly on my two computers. Both have 16x DVD read capability, but getting less than 2x read speed when I rip.

I swear I’ve had much faster rips in the past.

What could the problem be?

What drive(s) do you have? Both my Lite-On’s in my sig rip at about 5X Max in DVD Decrypter. I’m trying to figure out if that is right?

One of my drives is a Pioneer DVD-106. The other drive is an NEC 2510a.

Something is. I don’t know what is or how to figure it out.

For the Primary IDE Channel, Device 0 says–
Transfer Mode: DMA if Available
Current Transfer Mode: Ultra DMA Mode 5

For the Primary IDE Channel, Device 1 says–
Transfer Mode: DMA if Available
Current Transfer Mode: Not Applicable

For the Secondary IDE Channel, Device 0 says–
Transfer Mode: DMA if Available
Current Transfer Mode: PIO Mode

For the Secondary IDE Channel, Device 1 says–
Transfer Mode: DMA if Available
Current Transfer Mode: Multi-Word DMA Mode 2

I assume the three devices are my hard drive, CD burner, and DVD-ROM drive.

Problem solved. I uninstalled then reinstalled the secondary IDE channel and everything works now.

I’m glad you got the problem fixed. Could you post what speeds your drives get up to when ripping in DVD Decrypter? Like I said in the above post, my drives only get up to around 5X when ripping in Decrypter, and I’d like to know if that’s normal. Thanks.
