Slow writing speed with Verbatim DLP

I just bought a pack of Verbatim DLP rated 40x, but my 24102B (5S5A) + Nero can only burn it at 16x max. I dun have this problem with other media - is it the discs or my litey? I tested it with CDSpeed too and it also showed writing speed at 16x max. ATIP as follows:

ATIP: 97m 34s 23f
Disc Manufacturer: Mitsubishi Chemicals Corp.
Reflective layer: Dye (Long strategy; e.g. Cyanine, Azo etc.)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

And if you switch off SmartBurn?

These media burns at almost 48x (when writing at 48x, write quality deteriorates from about 74min on, which means that about 45x/46x is the upper limit)

It doesn’t matter whether smartburn is on or off - the speed is limited to 16x when burning this Verbatim DLP - no option for faster speed.

It may be the Litey. I’ve been using Verbatim DLP 48x with my TDK 48-16/24-48. Info:

ATIP: 97m 34s 23f

That looks just like the ones you were talking about.

They burn just fine all the way up to 48x in the TDK. I posted the quality check results in the 48x media tests thread. No errors!

But how could it be the litey if I have no problems with numerous other medias? I’m still waiting for people who’re using 24102B to clear this up - it’s a very odd prob.
