Slow speed ASUS DRW-20b1LT?

Well, I buyed this burner today to replace an ASUS 2014 that got broken.

I’m having this… all burns start at more or less, 5,5x an then go to the max speed I set, like 8x or 12x, but when this happens, the burn is already at the 20% or more. I think the dvdrw is going slow. Im using a Verbatim 16x media, and tested with a Lightscribe media too from the same vendor, but same results. So far, all burns I’ve done today played great, with 0 problems, but I think the burning progress is still slow.

What can be the problem, or, maybe this is normal?

The burner starts at a low speed and gradually increases towards the end of the burn.
