Slow reading/writing and DVDDecrypter compatibility

Firstly, I’m new to this site, so sorry if this is in the wrong forum. It seems the most likely.

I’ve been having trouble with my Pioneer 106. A month or so back it started using almost all the CPU time when working (kernel time, so changing process priority didn;t help).

It’s now started to fail to verify DVD’s it;s written (saying that the media installed is invalid, immediately after it has written it).

I’m quite happy to get a new unit - Pioneer 110 seems most likely, but as I use DVDDecrypter from time to time, and that is not being developed, I’m rather worried that it will not recognise devices that have been released since development stopped.

Can anyone shed any light on either of these problems?

Yes, for some reason your drive is working in PIO mode. This gives very slow data transfer & 95%+ CPU usage. Check this guide out

Thanks a million.

The problem is corrected (for now).

God knows how it got into PIO mode.

I’d still be interested as to whether or not DvdDecrypter will work with devices released after the last update. I’ve spent quite a bit of time searching and cannot find anything about it.
