Can't understand why this "80 conductor cable" is repeated like a mantra in this forum section, post by post.
From a techical pont of view, there is NO NEED for any 80 conductor cable when dealing wit ATA/ATAPI devices running at UDMA-2. Period
Just a note. I have both mine fastest DVDRW drives (NEC 3500 and BenQ 1602@Philips, both UDMA-2) connected on a quality 40 conductor cable. I tried "80" cable, but for some reason I get more stable burns when on "40" cable...
Are mine burns bad? Not so, more likely the opposite, some of the best on this board when on acceptable media.
Thanks, just had to get this of my chest.
BTW, "Sony 8x -R" media is most probably SONY08D1.
