Skipping music

Help please. My son has a dj business and he runs all of his music through his laptop.

Recently, he has been getting skipping and even parts of the songs are cutting out on him.

He is new to the business. Can anyone help?

Are there any programs to help support playing the music that are the latest and greatest?

I hope I am in the right forum or someone can direct me or help me.

Skipping could be several things. A failing/dirty player, low quality or damaged discs, or the laptop/player could be sensitive to be vibration or is getting bumped.

Another thing to check would be that the lappy’s hard drive is operating in UDMA mode - see the link in my signature to check and/or fix it :slight_smile:
