Fine TRT though… but once or twice my LTR-16101B suddenly stopped scanning in the area where the E22 errors were :confused:

I wonder what my LiteOn DVD burner scans like :eek:
At 4x it seems to report much higher error levels, but there is an area where it apparently fell back into the old E31 errors only mode…

Media with SKC ATIP/MID codes were produced by several different companies from China/Hong Kong, etc.
SKC supplied CD-R/DVDR stampers to many smaller manufacturers from that region.

Exactly. Only the SKC branded media were actually made by SKC Korea.

There were also other “generic” MID codes used by tens of smaller DVDR manufacturers: VDSPMSAB-00x-00x (Interaxia AG), ANxx, AML-00x-00x, UME0x (Anwell Precision Technology), Singulus and VDL ODMS MID codes, etc.

324 F only support 16x with this ATIP, so I guess it uses a standard writing strategy which don´t ork with this media

Most media with SKC ATIP/MID codes were made by small manufacturers from China, Macau or Hong Kong - SKC was their supplier of dyes, stampers and process know-how.

Have many old SKC-labeled media, start with 16x CD-R 650MB with cyanine dye, 32x CD-R 700 with Phthalocyanine and still some 870MB. Think this is really SKC-Media, it was very good.

If you had SKC-media, in the past the writing surface looks strange, you know what I mean :wink: ? (Had also Fujitsu-Siemens CD-R with that look)

Yes, some SKC media (but also some Sony CD-Rs) used to have strange circular patterns in dye layers.

I think tis media is simply awful. The 5238S support speeds from 4x - 16x, so I guess it have -in opposite of the ihas 124F- write strategies for this ATIP, at least the original SKCs.

But again it was nor nice. Benq failes read at 48x, no additional sense error.

C2 is not nice, but my best with these CD-Rs. C1 is to high

Scanning at 8x speed gives more accurate error values, at least with Benq drives.

Same as my MediaRange 900MB

And the MediaRange Vinyl CD-Rs are even worse.

I know 800/870/900MB are more critical than 700MB-CD-Rs but a CD-R should be readable at much higher speeds than 8x
