SIS IDE-driver & W2K & bufferunderrun Tip

When I'm using Windows Me & all of the drivers of my Motherboard Everything works fine. With all type of cdr(W) write programs.

After installing W2K on my machine With the supplied drivers installed The reading & Writing with my Plextor 24/10/40A took about doubled the time as normal.
After finisching writing Nero tells me that it had prevented buffer underrun about 130 times for 600 mb cd.
Checking the IDE-port told me That the writer was in the slow PIO 4 mode instead of UDMA 2.

After reading & searching trough different topics about 3 hours and NO ANSWER found I tried to delete the "SIS Bus master IDE Controller" & installed it manually as a "standard IDE controller"
After the neccesary reboots W2K finally found My plextor as a UDMA 2 drive & all works fine now.

SO DON'T INSTALL SIS IDE DRIVER FOR W2K.

I hope somen is helped with this.

Greetings

Oermens
