Why do you use the split is it because you want to keep the menu along with the main movie without all the extras on one disc ? why not just use main movie mode, I mean using the split mode creates a menu that loses part of it functionality because some of what it navigates to is on another disc plus you use a second disc for the extras the cost of two single layer disc compared to one double layer disc hmmm how much are you really saving
If you are looking at it for cost reasons then why not go with customize mode and just select the main movie it will give you the same results without having to use a second disc + you’ll have your menu ;)
I use the split because i like to keep EVERYTHING (movie, extras, menu) without any compression. I dont really mind if the menu loses part of its functionality on each disc, I still want it. Now a good Verbatin DL is at least $1.30 vs. a SL around $0.30 (x2). In my opinion the difference is not negligible. Also if for some reason the burn fails, i will feel less bad in throwing away the SL disc…
Customize mode is a good idea but sometimes some movies (over 2 hours + 5.1 dolby -large- file…) still wont fit in one SL disc unless you compress it. This is not what I want.
