Starting today Microsoft no longer offers support for outdated Internet Explorer versions. Users on older versions of the browser receive a notification urging them to update to a newer version of the browser. Users that are unable to update (yet), while heavily recommended, can use a trick to disable the notification.

I will have to advice strongly against ‘tricks’ when it comes to online browsing. Such an approach only makes you vulnerable to attacks.

In other words, please disregard the ‘trick’ and download an alternative compatible browser. If privacy is of concern (and at current, due to security as well), avoid Google Chrome.
