in general, do todays set top dvd players play burned dual layer dvd movies as readily as the commercial dual layer dvd's?
just wondering, i dont want to buy a bunch of +R-DL discs if when i make a copy my player(Toshiba SD-5980) wont play them
Generally, yes.Setting the booktype to Dvd-Rom, you'll get a higher compatibility for your player. But it most depends on your stand alone player.
hrm, okay, thank you
oh, forgot to ask, will bitsetting a dual layer +R to dvd-rom still allow the player to play both layers? since dvd-roms are single layer afaik
Sure if your player likes the media there shouldn't be a problem.
