Thanks. I'm downloading AviDemux as we speak. I went to the web page you pointed me to and I now have a copy of those instructions.
If I can't get AviDemus to work, I'll try VideoReDo Plus.
I've been using my DVD editor to perform this function, but when I have a large file, it takes a long time (over 30 seconds!) just to get to the point near where I want to make the cut and then several minutes messing about with a step function to find the correct frame.
I tried using AnyVideoConverter, but it doesn't have a 'slider' function and I had to actually play the video stream (in real time) to get to the point where I wanted to start the 'snip.'
VirtualDub is really excellent from a functional standpoint, but limited to AVI input/output. That involves a conversion from MPEG2 to AVI.
My DVD creator accepts AVI so I don't have to convert back.
But in any case it's a lot of tedious file handling.
