I've been reading this threads for some hours, and found so many interesting new things... Since I am not being able to assimilate all this flux of information I'll decided to ask a question which I know the experimented guy will take a second to answer.
I'm about to buy a DVD writer for the first time... I know I should wait for the new DL stuff, but since I'm kinda desperate and I dont want to spend too much money in something I'm not really going to use right away. I'll decided to go for one good 8x writer.
I am between the Lite-On SOHW-812S, NEC ND-2500A, Pioneer DVR-A07/107 and LG GSA-4081B.
My choice so far is the Lite-On SOHW-812S, because I already own 2 Lite-On drives and I'm very pleased with both of them.(Although I like the LG supporting dvd-ram)
But I found a BIG problem, in Argentina there is no place where I can buy that exactly model, luckly there are many Sony DW-U18A which, I understand, are the same sh*t.
So I have 2 questions:
1. I wanna know for sure if the Sony DW-U18A and the Lite-On SOHW-812S are exactly the same thing and if I can use all the "lite-on" tools and firmwares availables for the Lite-On.
- I want to be sure that my choice is good, or if I should get another drive or wait for the DL drives.
I hope to get some answers soon.
Thanks a lot, Epexy.
