Hello.

I got some flash tool here, to upgrade my firmware for my Lite-on SHW-160P6S, this flash turned my drive into a DRW-… something i then tryed to flash back and it got half way through and failed, now my PC won’t find the drive and i think its dead? can anybody help? thanks.

EDIT:
Actually i used a system information tool and when i look in optical drives its listed as a DVDRW-6S160P but it doesn’t show up as a E:\ drive on my PC. Anybody help? thanks.

Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device ? ? ?

I see. You accidentally flashed your LiteOn SHW-160P6S with an OEM firmware.
Does the drive’s LED blink now?

Try reflashing with a flashfixed stock firmware.
If this doesn’t work, you might need to flash with XSF under MS-DOS.

The drive’s LED works perfect and blinks, the drive reads all disks apart from blank CD and DVD’s so i’m back to square one.

I tryed reflashing it with a stock firmware SWH-160P6S, but it tells me Unable to flash firmware. Please contact with your vender, if i run the stock.exe through flashfix.exe i get the error Couldn’t find all of the bytes to patch. Please restore backup.

When i use a PS0B.exe through flashfix, it actually works, but when i reboot my drive stays at the same DRW-… drive name! :’(
