Show codec info in file details

vbimport

when I am testing various encoding options I use ( in XP ) a column called codec in folder details. so that I can see at a glance how each file in my folder was encoded. i.e. divx xvid etc.

I can’t figure how to do this in Vista - I can still display bitrate, but there’s no “codec” column option that I can find ???

PS “dimensions” does not work either in vista ? IN Xp I can see the dimensions e.g. 720 x 480 of AVi files,
in vista, with same files - that column is blank ?

I read somewhere that MediaInfocan be added to the right click (context) menu in Explorer. That might work for you.

maybe - but the Xp style folder details including dimensions & codecs were much more helpful when comparing similar .avi files.

I wonder if it’s worse or better in windows 7 ?
