Shop bought '24' won't play!

Hi folks - newbie here with my first post.

I’ve just bought a Lafayette DVD player, aiming to get something that’ll play all the latest formats etc but doesn’t cost the earth.

I have an original box set of series 1 & 2 of 24, but they don’t play in the player. The machine simply says ‘NO DISC’. There is no attempt to eaven load the menus or anything and no messages saying that the region is wrong. It just won’t play!! I’m also finding this problem with certain Disney disks.

The disks play fine in my laptop, so I know the disks work.

Any ideas from the experts?

Are you sure they are the original disks? If you are & you bought them, I would return for a refund. You could have this problem even with some new players if the disks are not commercial DVD’s.

Maybe the new player is bad – try to take it back and try a different brand. I am not familiar with the Lafayette brand, but Samsung, Toshiba, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, etc., all make entry-level players that are not expensive. Regards, gamma1
