SH-S203P writes only at 4x?

hi,

i’ve just bought a few TDK “Extra Fine Matt” DVD-Rs (photo inkjet printable), the cover says its 1-16x speed, but both in Nero and ImgBurn I’m able to burn them only at least at 4x

it’s like this but in thin case

Why would you want to do that? The Sammy should burn them well at 8x minimum, any lower would be a waste of time…and they may not burn well below that speed anyway.

Well your drive can burn those discs at the speeds
4x; 6x; 8x; 12x; 16x

Why would you wanna burn at 1x
I don’t think any of the newer drives support 1x or 2x burning
for DVD-R and DVD+R that is

well you know, i want to burn some xbox “backups”, and xbox drives are picky, that’s all

I think media quality may have as much to do with it as burn speed - I know a lot of CDF members that burn XBox backups - using quality media - at higher (above 4x) speeds. :slight_smile:

A forum search for “Xbox backup” may give you some ideas about media to use and burn speeds. :slight_smile:

1x is not suitable for DVD+R anyway.
