Settings for quality versus space, voice audio

 I’ve got instructional audio from cd that I want to convert for my mp3/wma player. What is a good setting to use. Ripping the cd creates a 44,100 khz and 128kbps. This is just a voice instructional audio but I don’t want it to sound tinny. Where do I get the best space savings, reduce the khz or kbps. Any help is really appreciated.

For voice-only, I’d say you can get away with 22kHz, Mono, 32kbps. If that sounds tinny or distorted then try 22kHz, Mono, 48kbps.

For some reason I kept it in stereo, ( brain was sleeping ),

Thanks for the input
