Session Fixation Error from Philips+-RW DVD8631

Ok here is what happened, I was having no problems at all then some windows files got messed up on my Dell Dimension 4700, After going through the tortures of the damned I was able to get a Windows XP SP2 reinstallation disc but not the system resources disc. After reformatting the HDD and reinstalling windows I reinstalled most of the critical drivers i had to have someone for me off the dell website. After I got everything reinstalled I found that I could burn CDs but not DVDs I get a session fixation error. I tried to update to the latest firmware listed on dell’s site (GD30) and it get an error saying my model of drive is not supported. So I try to cross flash it to a BenQ which had bad results at first cause I used the wrong firmware  . But I got it recovered and flashed it with the proper BenQ firmware and I am still having the same issue. I have tried burning it in Nero 7.2.0.3, Record now, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and gotten the same result every time. Does anyone know how I might get this drive burning again?

Here is the log from nero:

Help. This looks like the same problem I am having. I should say that my burner worked fine using Nero 6 reloaded. WhenI ungraded to Nero 7 it stopped working. It will run througt all sequences ok (coding the movie) until it starts the burn. Then it fails right at the begining (usually it get to about 3.7%, just after the disc has runs up to spead.) I am using the philip GD30 firmware (flashed without a problem) on my Dell 8400.

It might work if I reinstall nero 6 but I dont want to do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Physical memory : 254MB (260176kB)
Free physical memory: 25MB (26244kB)

HOW should this ever work??

You should remove your Nero key from the log!

Try B7P9 as a minimum upgrade for this frive. B7T9 and B7W9 are also very good.

As to the install of optical drives

 • remove or swiitch the Samsung to slave
 • get rid of the CdRomPeripheral : OE3272Z AYA541I 1.0 dtscsi Port 3 ID 0 DMA: Off (virtual drive ?)
 • one HD is DMA off “DiskPeripheral : WDC WD800JB-00FMA0 13.0 ultra Port 2 ID 1 DMA: Off”

Done.

Is there any page where i can lookup the diffs between all those versions?

Thanks
