Server memory

ok so im lookin around ebay at ram and other stuff when i see this…

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&viewitem=&item=180198003024&rd=1

my question is what is the difference between server memory and regular and would this work in any pc that takes ddr2 memory?

If your memory uses non-ecc, unregistered memory, I don’t think the registered, ECC memory will work. Are you looking to purchase more DDR2 memory for your comp? If so, please list your motherboard make and model and your current memory configuration.

A bit more info:

ive got an old dell e310, the mother board is model 0jc474, right now i have 2x 256mb pc2-4300 (266mhz)… was just curious about the server memory, would that have worked in my pc?

According to dell’s documentation:
"NOTICE: Do not install ECC or buffered memory modules. Only unbuffered, non-ECC memory is supported."
