Hello,

after several days of searching I can not find a solution.

I have an asus laptop with a BD burner slymtype E DS4E1s (brand PLDS) and firmware EA2B but I have a concern for burning dvd dl XGD3 (2 of 3 DVDs are bad) so I searched a solution on this site and on google with no success, I found another firmware on the liteon site (ep56) just as old that I do change anything and I also found a more recent update on the site dell for the same type of drive firmware ED16 is only incorporated into software that blocks the installation (under Windows and under DOS) because it’s not a dell pc.
So I searched on google dump firmware, but I can not find it separately, I found only the dump EAB1 (original on dell) that install perfectly for my burner but it does not change much.

So there we have given me someone to dump the firmware ED16 or would there another solution to make my drive more efficient with dvd dl?

It’s easy, buy reliable DVD±R DL media like that from Verbatim.

thank you for your reply but I already use Verbatim media  in what I said I do not mean that the dvd are bad but they are badly burned and unreadable again sorry for the google translation

Unfortunately I don’t have an unscrambled copy of the DELL firmware, which is a pity since that seems to be the newest DS4E1S release… If someone has one of these drives, please dump a copy of a EDxx firmware and post it here…

Meanwhile try the EAB1 firmware: http://www.mediafire.com/?70d8ddutid59g0t

This is the newest one I have, and is dated 2010/03/12, so it is a couple of months newer than the EA2B firmware. Maybe it improves things for you…

yes thank you for the firmware EAB1 but this is what I installed when I say in my message that you install from dell, I say in my message

XDG3 is some console backup? If so, is your console designed to work with backups? I would check this at first before you blame your drive and its firmware.

Apart from that, OEM firmwares often lack advanced features, compared with the retail version (if exists). One example would be Bitsetting, which must not necessarily be implemented in the OEM firmware for $computer_manufacturer

good evening,

if I understand your question, yes my console binds well also I backup copies on the PC of a friend and writer have no worries.
there is a firmware retail I tried but it’s even worse (it’s older).

Here it is, ED16.bin: [erroneous link removed; see two posts down]

Could you please reupload the EAB1 for SlimtypeBD E DS4E1S in turn? Thanks.

Sorry cvs! I accidentally uploaded scrambled firmware file instead of dump file.

Here is the proper dump file of PLDS DVDRWBD DS-4E1S ED16:

Please remove my previous post.

P.S. Thanks for the EAB1.
