This is a product that can come in handy if you need to carry sensitive information to work and don't want folks to see what you are up to. Most encryption schemes simply passwords your files. Leaving co-workers with a lot of time on their hands, curious as to what is contained within. Possibly to the point that they wheedle away precious hours in an attempt to decipher your files.
This application is unique in that it allows you to create a decoy front end, even auto-booting upon insertion. You can put up a logo or picture announcing the contents to be a plethora of your custom made powerpoint presentations on insurance matters for instance. Making your boss proud of that 7% raise he just gave you and sending curious co-workers reeling from your terminal as if it were contaminated with the SARS virus. When in reality, with the insertion of the correct password, it is a collection of high quality Mp3 files ready to rock your cubicle with music or your favorite audio book, the possibilities are endless. You can then carry your sensitive files with you instead of trusting people with them on your system when your away.The files you put on a CryptCD are not simply encrypted. They are strategically packed in to .dat files - with multiple files per .dat - so you can't tell where one file starts and the others begin making it very difficult to decrypt. When you view/run files from a CryptCD that file is copied and decrypted to your system temp directory while you work with it.When your done with that file it is automatically deleted from the drive ( multiple files can remain open at once ). NOTE: this version is limited to 2 Gigabytes of data. ( NOTE: until registered this version is limited to 50 MB on the generated CD image. ) |
Decoy setup - Allows you to set exactly what people see when they enter your CryptCD into the CDROM. options include: Setting the Decoy Text ( ie. Clip Art Setup CD ), Decoy Text color, Background color, and popup dialog box of your choice ( "Enter password", "Enter registration code", and "Enter registration codes" - triple text box - the last text box is where you enter your password. Fun stuff!
Some of the other features are: Set CD size so you cannot accidentally add too many files to burn to your CD. Exporting of encrypted files once the CD is burned so you can always retrieve the files to work with later if you need to. Clear recent docs option so after your finished viewing/using your files the windows "Recent Docs" won't have your activity visible to anyone who get curious. View / Run file - Ability to decrypt, copy to your system "Temp" directory, and run your files with just a double click of the mouse the files are automatically deleted from your temp directory when you run another file or close CryptCD after viewing from the CD. And much more.
