Selling my comp, do i keep my benq 1640 or buy new models?

Hi everybody,

I’m selling my computer to a friend to buy a conroe based computer.

I wanted to know if i keep my benq 1640 or is there any better model now ?

The fact is that i’m really happy with it, it’s a very good burner but it has 1 year old.
What kind of lifetime can i expect ?

Keep the 1640. You can NOT buy another burner better than the 1640 out there right now.

I would keep the 1640, but maybe even spend $30 on a new Lite-On burner if you feel the urge. The 160/165 series is great.

I bought an external enclosure and put my 1640 in it and put the brand new Lite-On 165 in my rig, cause it reads the finalized DVD-RW’s that my Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD Recorder puts out, whereas neither of my Benq’s does.

Hi,

to get the most out of your drives, you should have installed the Benq internally and use the Litey in the enclosure

cause it reads the finalized DVD-RW’s that my Panasonic DMR-ES15 DVD Recorder puts out, whereas neither of my Benq’s does.
:iagree: These Benq drives aren’t the best readers…

Michael

Can’t do that. I like having the Litey in my main machine so it can read those Panasonic DVD Recorder disks. The 1640 goes traveling with me.

It’s cheaper to keep her!

Don`t keep the 1640… offer it to me…

Keep the beast.

thank for your advices.
