Second or Third opinion needed on Diskeeper 7

First of all let me say " MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the CDFREAKS"

I’m interested in purchasing Diskeeper 7 for my PC. I’m running
XP-PRO and currently defrag my system with the windows
defrag program that’s provided by Micro$oft. Are there any
benefits to be gained by using a third party defrag program
such as DISKEEPER or am i wasting my hard earn cash?

I use Diskeeper 7, but only because I got it for free. It works well, but I don’t really notice much of a difference.

I’ve heard good things about O&O Defrag.

Nutsack…Ignore my ignorance but what is O&O? I’ve never heard of the above.

o&o defrag is unreal and free. a shit load better than xp’s built in defragger http://www.oosoft.de/english/products/oodefragv4/index.html check it out;)

Thanks for the link Slayerking i’ll give it a try and then decide if it’s
worth having a third party defrag program.

According to O&O’s website, a single user license for Defrag Pro edition costs $63. What exactly are you talking about?

it is free when you log into the download page go to the download archive i think its called, and it is in there totally free o&o defrag freeware edition

One question are you allowed any updates with the free version?

i’m not sure but I dont think there is any updates for the free version. When you install o&o defrag make sure you back up windows defrag program when it asks in case you uninstall o&o :slight_smile:
