Its local for me, but I wish I knew better about the problems their current drives are having. Some say firmware fixes it, but others say it doesn’t, and there have been a lot of dead seagate drives lately?

NO Seagate now.

Hmmmm…has anyone else noticed on newegg’s site all of the Seagate drives
state a 3 year warranty instead of 5 years with the exception of the ES series of drives.
I just wonder if the fiasco with the 1.5TB hdds caused Seagate to rethink their 5 year
warranty on their hdds or if it is just a mistake on newegg’s part. I’ve already decided
if they are cutting down the warranty to 3 years then no more Seagate drives for me I’ll
go with WD if they keep their 5 year warranty on the Black Edition drives. :iagree:

I believe Seagate cut OEM warranties back to 3 years a while ago. I believe retail still is 5 years.

The OEM 1TB Seagate I bought something like 2 or 3 months ago from Tigerdirect said it had a
5 year warranty on it so guess I better check into it and find out if it has or not. All I can say is
if that is true about the OEM drives just having 3 years on them then Seagate has lost my business
from now on and I’ll go with who ever has the longest warranty and best track record for quality. :iagree:

Hmmm… something smells fishy here TD is still advertising the OEM as having 5 years on them here is the link.
