Scout & Yaps

Scout doesn’t work on my computer (WindowsXP)
I downloaded the latest (last?) version 2.3.
I install it and when i execute the scout.exe file i get an error message.
I’m at my work right now so i can’t tell you exactly what it says.

Is Yaps still being updated?
I’ve downloaded “yaps1r10.zip”
Is this the latest version? If not where can i get it? The official website doesn’t work.

I want a protection scanner which is still being updated.
What do you recommend?

I know you’re at work but post the error message asap - scout is harmless

Yaps…If not where can i get it?

…you haven’t read the FAQ :stuck_out_tongue:

I read the faq and i did go to http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_2.shtml#YaPS

but the file is dated 16-11-2001 so my gues was cdmediaworld hadn’t updated the file for a long time. That’s why i asked if the version i downloaded is the latest one. If it is Yaps is very outdated.

I’ll post the errormessage that scout gives me when i get home.

That’s the latest release, v1r09 by demon. Outdated, it’s not! It can still find SecuROM and SafeDisc - all versions  where others can’t. It knows how to burrow into most encrypted executables and find the prot where, Clony for example, can’t

Ok, i downloaded “yaps1r10.zip” from some website just now.
Seems like it’s version r10 so newer than r09.
I can’t install it and check cause i’m working with Apple Macintoshes at my work.

This is the error i get, what does it mean?

AppName: scout.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.0 Offset: 0000d756

When i click to see more information about the error i get all this:

alexnoe is better at this than me, I just have no idea when Scout is so reliable for me and others.

I found that Scout 2.3 wouldn’t run on my system, just a bunch of error messages, so I switched back to 2.2.

Well i hope that alexnoe stops by then.

I’m going to look for 2.2.
Do you know where it’s still available for download?

I think you can still get it here until 15 October.
