Hi, I am having some problems with my audigy soundcard. I keep getting a beep from the pc casespeaker when I change the volume in the volume control. When I run creative diagnostics, the mixer settings fail, and I run the fix, but it doesn't work. The sound works on the computer but the pc case beeping every time I try to change the volume is very annoying. Any help on how to fix this vexing problem would be appreciated. TIA
I had the same problem once with MSN Messenger (all sounds worked through my audio, but MSN Messenger used my PC speaker). I removed the Audigy drivers and installed them again. Problem solved...!
I tried to do that like five times and I even disabled the virus scan applications, but to no avail, it still won't fix the problem. :a
This is a wild guess, but do you have an onboard sound chip on your mobo, and is it disabled? It should be.
Second wild guess, the beep might be some kind of diagnostic error to do with the sound card as that's when you get it.
I actually do have onboard sound, and it's disabled.
@Phil DX- what would the error diagnostic be? I'm not sure why it keeps beeping. TY
I would suggest you uninstall the drivers one more time and then use DriverCleaner which the latest version can be found here. The latest version is 1.9. When I used the 1.8 version in order to install the SB Unified Drivers, it was very simple.
