Looking for a quick fix: My SATA to USB loses connection with my PC and it’s doing my head in. Any help?

               Try a different port.;)

I have similar problem with integrated USB in NVIDIA chipset. Do you tried the adapter in another computer with different chipset ?

Tried a different port and still the same problem where I usually have a yellow triangle in the bottom-righthand corner with a black exclamation mark in its centre. I’ll try the other suggestion tomorrow and thanks.

Try updating the drivers also.

I’m on XP and no drivers are required according to the CD I got with the cable. I tried it on my old Dell Optiplex GXa and it runs, but slow because it’s only USB 1 so it must be my newer Dell which is a GX260.

Also try a different cable

A bad cable can cause that problem

Crappy adaptors. No surprise of that loss.

It was a brand new cable, but I bought another one that appears similar and it seems to run now so thank you very much for your help.
