Why mobile phone manufacturers won't embrace established removable storage standards, such as MicroSD, is beyond me. If they don't like existing standards, why don't they invest in their own?
If nothing else, it will attract consumers who aren't sure how much capacity they might need. After all, if you have too little space, you could simply add in a memory card, which will give you plenty of extra space. It would also gain attention from people who need a lot of space, since they can have multiple cards.
I can't possibly be the only one who sees the stupidity of this. I know Apple doesn't like using MicroSD cards, and I know everyone else absolutely has to imitate Apple, but I think I've got a better idea: stop imitating Apple. These manufacturers can think outside the box, if they try. But I guess that would require trying, which seems to be looked down upon.
