Samsung SH-W162C Slow Burn Problem

Hello,

I have just bought a Samsung SH-W162C.

First I burned a Nortech DVD-R 8X media. The writer burned the media at 4X, although it was supposed to support up to 12x.

Then I burned a Diamond CD-R 52X media. The writer burned the media at 16X, although it was supposed to support up to 40X.

I have upgraded the firmware to T10.

I have also installed the Magic Speed software and set it to “High Speed Mode”.

I am using Nero 6.0.0.8.

DMA is enabled and it is currently using Ultra DMA Mode 2.

Why is my burner writing at slow speed? Is it because of the media I use or is there another problem?

Maybe the disc are not good enough to write them at 8x or they´re not stored in the W162C firmware. What media ID do the discs have?

The SH-W162C with TS10 firmware only supports the UME01 at 4X. Try other media if you want to burn at higher speed.

I agree to FactFinder. UME01 discs are only supported @4x. Try other media like Verbatim or Imation to burn at 8x or 16x.
