Samsung SH-S223F and bitsetting/booktype

Hi,
I’ve just got my new Samsung SH-S223F DVD burner, and I can’t figure out if and how I can get it to set booktype to DVD-ROM :frowning:
I’ve tried to patch it with the tool from http://codeguys.rpc1.org/patchers.html, but all I could manage was to make my drive region free. (I patched the latest original firmware from samsung).

Hopefully there are users in this forum which is able to help me out; or point me in the right directions.

For those of you who are interested: I need to make a copy of my navigation DVDs for my car. And the “car” only accepts the original discs (Booktype = DVD-ROM).

Thanks for all help in advance.

Cheers,
B

I’m having the same problem, did you ever figure out how to set the booktype on your sh-s223f?

Unfortunately no, so any suggestion is a good suggestion… anyone?

Cheers!

Hi and Welcome!
I’m having the same problem, did you ever figure out how to set the booktype on your sh-s223f?
ImgBurn does this automagically. Burn a disc and check booktype with CD/DVD speed. Note, booktyping is only defined for +R media.

@bandrea:
It is not only the booktype that decides if your navigation DVD backup works.

Perhaps this would enlighten me :slight_smile:

Thanks for the tip mciahel.

Wish there was a way to set it but ImgBurn will work fine for my use.
