Samsung sh-s222l vs NEC 3500ag

I am finally going to upgrade my aging but proud burner. Can I expect the Sammy to give as good burn quality?

Thanks

The 3500 is several years old, the other drive not.

Key is to use good medias.

I wouldn’t really recommend the Samsung 22x burner series, the (burn) quality is extremely unpredictable. If you want Samsung, you could look for the 24x or 20x models. The Sony NEC Optiarc 7240 is also a solid performer.

Yeah, I wanted an optiarc but need a PATA drive and was trying to decide which one of those to get that would be at least as good as the 3500 I have.

Thanks

Thanks - K unless someone tells me otherwise, I will get the
Sammy s222L just for writing DL media.
