Perhaps there’s a typo, but your writer seems to be 203P and not D.

Block this post please. I will make other with the correct model of my dvd burner.

No Idea if this is the right Place. If not move this Thread. My first results for this drive, installed today. Hopefully the german text is no big problem as the nero interface is identically. (Can i set my Nero to english anyhow?)

Media: CMC MAG M01 (Platinum 16x inkjet writeable)
Type: DVD+R 16x rated
Burned with: CD DVD Speed 4.6.1.2
Burned at: 16x speed
Drive/Firmware: SH-S203D / SB00

Hi and Welcome!
No Idea if this is the right Place. If not move this Thread.
Done. Moved to existing 203D scans and discussion thread.

Shouldn’t be a problem. And you can change the language of Nero or CD/DVD speed (btw your version is rather old, get the latest from www.cdspeed2000.com)

Michael

P.S.: How to attach pictures in a post

#6

My apologies! And thank you for the update Link to CD/DVD-Speed!

#7

I see here that the 203D can perform Quality Scans using CD-DVD Speed.

Why does the Start button become disabled for me?

Here is the screenshot for the same

#8

You have to go into the registry and remove the blocked entry to scan with that drive

#9

How do I do that?

OK found what you mentioned here http://club.cdfreaks.com/1769185-post4.html

However, even after following that and confirming that the words Samsung and TSST have been removed from the Registry - STILL the Quality Scan button is greyed out :frowning:

Assuming you modified the entry correctly it should work after restarting cd speed

It’s working in Vista but, not in XP Pro. I have them in Dual Boot mode. Lemme see why it’s not happening.

I had burned this disc using Nero 7.11.6.0 on a Windows Vista Business SP1 Machine. It took a little over 5 mins to burn this. Sorry but, I forgot the record the exact time it took.

I know this media is rated badly here at the forums but, I’ve just got my hands on Taiyo Yuden +R 8x discs and I’ll post the scans for it soon.

Please ignore the Burn date in the Screenshot as I used Nero to create and .NRG image of an existing DVD and burned that .NRG Image to this disc. Hence, it shows the burn date of the original disc.

The scan seems to be pretty good. :iagree:

The Screen shot for the Quality Scan using Nero CD-DVD Speed is as follows:
Forget it. These drives can’t scan CD media properly. Michael
Just to add to mciahel post above. None of MediaTEK drives are able to scan CD’s properly. (Get a Plextor or BenQ Nexperia.)
Thanks.

Does this mean both LiteON as well as Samsung cannot scan properly as AFAIK they both have the MediaTek Chipsets?
