Do you know a diagnostic tool? I’m shure that it is “only” a software bug.
A disgnostic tool will report “fail” if a disc is not readable. And you already know that you can’t read any disc.
Since you also tried another computer with the same results, this should exclude software related issues.
Warranty is expired, so you might try to open the drive and clean the components, especially the laser unit. Greasing mechanical parts isn’t a bad idea either.
