Samsung DVD-VR357 duel dvd vcr recorder wont load

when I put a disc in my samsung DVD-VR357 duel recorder the disc wont load.It just opens back up with a message that says. check disc.
It does the same thing when trying to play movies or when I try to record from it. What could be the problem.I havent used the recorder much so it is in new like condition. I tryied to put a cleaning disc in it and it just ejected also.

I would see if a firmware update will help:

If the product is still under warranty and this doesn’t work, have it serviced.
