My bet is that you are correct. Based solely upon my instincts and the reputation of Samsung, I do not think they would have used TLC nand unless they thought it would be sufficient for the normal user, I believe they tested it and found out that under an everyday workload (avg of writes and reads) that TLC would be good enough to last the lifespan of a laptop or a desktop computer. I spoke to a representative of a different company that makes SSDs ( not going to name the company) but he made me believe that 20gbs a day was a higher than avg usage and that was what his company based their endurance on. But we were not talking about TLC nand either, so that's why I say, " I really do not know". No company wants to have the reputation of their SSDs failing, I think R&D has come a long way in a few years and these companies know way more than they did just a short time back.
