RW Stamp on almost all Blank DVD Media?

Long time listener first time caller …

What is the deal with the RW stamp on almost all of my DVD+R AND +RW media (I don’t have any -R right now… so I can’t check.)

Does anyone else’s disk have the stamps?

Why would they try and confuse me with the RW when it clearly says right below it that it’s only a +R

(On the +RW disks it has a “ReWriteable” in small print under the big RW)

Odd no?

Someone shed some light.

(FYI: It’s on the cheapo disks that came with the drive, HP disks and Imations as well. Actual media manufacturers unknown.)

It’s the DVD+RW Alliance’s quite stupid logo so it just means that it’s a “plus format” disc, not that it’s rewritable.
