+RW bitsetting to DVD-ROM on 3520A WORKS

1.U5 to 1.F3 = +RW to +RW, plus WinBTypeV2 would not see drive.
1.U5 to 1.04 (used 3520ORIG.BIN) then to 1.F3 = +RW to DVD-ROM.

Not sure why that happened but hey it works now.

Thanks Dee

Did you used a new DVD+RW for this test?

#3

Yes, new Philips 041 +RW discs.

Flashed from 1.U5 to 1.F3.

Set everything to DVD-ROM using Nero drive speed as WinBTypeV2 would not see drive.

first time (new disc) +RW = +RW
second time (new disc) +RW = +RW

Flashed back from 1.F3 to 1.U5 then to 1.04 and ended flashing to 1.F3.

Set everything to DVD-ROM using WinBTypeV2.

First time (new disc) +RW = DVD-ROM

Was there something wrong in your system that required you to flash so many times or is this what we’re all gonna have to do to get +RW to bitset?

tried with Intenso DVD+RW doesnt work

Complete Media Code
00000000 01 02 00 00 92 0F 04 00 00 03 00 00 00 26 05 3F …&.?

00000030 1B 02 8A 78 68 02 1C 22 13 00 E0 10 00 00 00 00 …xh…"…

tried WinBTypeV2 doesnt recognize the disk, nero no changes… tried first to flash direct to the new firmware and then using the original first, but no difference.

Edit:

uhm after erasing the disc(with dvdinfo) its recognize by cd-dvd speed as dvd-rom, but “WinBTypeV2” same “Eject disc. Try again.” error strange. I tried too , to play with dvdinfo so im not sure what i did worked/was wrong

ps. im using the The Dangerous Brother version patched to rpc1

[edit2]
stupid me i had do set the dvd-rom setting as default only once, now every dvd+rw i format is bittsetted to dvd-rom as it should, so probably the firmware flash order wasnt needet.
