RITEKG03: Is It Safe?

“Is it safe?”
–Christian Szell

I recently ended up with some RITEKG03 by accident. Only $4.00 USD for a 50-pack. From what I’ve read, back in the day, RITEKG03 was supposed to be good, and many consider it to be the only decent DVD-R media that Ritek ever produced.

However, as we know from the history of Ritek, they had some serious stumbles with RITEKG04 and RITEKG05, and so I’m wondering, in regards to RITEKG03, “is it safe?”

Higher PIE, but lower PIF.

I only had a few RitekG03s but they all degraded like G04 and G05 for me.

Here’s a scan of one.

Ouch!

The only Ritek G0x media type I would trust is RitekG06.
Does anyone have any experiences with Ritek G01 & G02 media?

Isn’t RitekM16 essentially just a renamed RitekG06?

:o You’re right.
I wonder why Ritek did not want to continue their famous G0x line…

The last they did was G07. After that there was a strategy change leading to the big variaty of stampers and dye for 16x Ritek media.
