Hi guys, i just bought a 50 pack of Ridata dvd+r 8x with my last bucks and when i got home to start burning i only get 4x. All my softwares says the media burns up to 12x and i can even select that, but when i click burn, takes a while to start burning and when it does starts REALLY Slow for the first 5s then it burns at 4x all the way.

Ive used other kinds of media, and this was what i got:
verbatin 16x = 16x burns
benq 8x = 12x burns
vakkos 8x = 12x burns
cheap 4x media = 4x burns

As u can see, im only having problem with this Ridata discs, ive paid more because i thought it would at least be as good as the benq dvds i had.
Anyone else with the same problem? Any way to fix this? I realy dont want to burn 4x with this 50 pack.

plz help? firmware ? I tried b7t9 and b7p9 and both same thing

The Benq firmware ignores the media code revision. You either got a bad batch or RITEK-R03-002 differ alot from RITEK-R03-001, so the write strategy does not match. You could try your luck to find a better matching strategy, but this will void your warranty. Follow the link in my signature if you want to give it a try.
