LG 4167b DL13 (SP) 8x, 4464 MB

Nero CD-DVD Speed: Disc Info
MID : RITEK R03 002
Write speeds: : 4 X - 6 X - 8 X

Sold as Traxdata 8x DVD+R, the LG seems to fair a little better than the BenQ with this trash media. But once again the TRT is abysmal.

Quality Scan: BenQ 1650, TRT: BenQ 1650

Burner: BenQ 1620 B7W9, 4482MB disc
Disc: Traxdata branded Ritek DVD+R 16x (RITEK-R05)
Package: 25 pack Spindle
Barcode:8717202994274

This one looks good, but the lack of support for the newer 16x MID worries me, since I love my BenQ.

Burner: NEC ND-3500AG 2.1B, 4482MB disc
Disc: Traxdata branded Ritek DVD+R 16x (RITEK-R05)
Package: 25 pack Spindle
Barcode: 8717202994274

Even though the graph looks good, the data readability is quite nasty, since it always had CRC errors, which is quite odd with these results!

What’s with all these poor Ritek R03 burns? I usually get good results with R03 in the area of PIFs, but PIEs are much too high.

These three scans are from the same batch of 8x discs.

BenQ DW1650 BCIC , 4482 MB

Ritek R03 sometimes gets good results on PIFs, but PIEs are high no matter what I burn it on and what settings I use. This is an example. It’s burned at 8x on my BenQ 1650 with BCIC f/w.

samsung s203b sb00 firmware at the time of burn, full 4482mb
ridata ritek f16 dvd+r bought from newegg in a 100pk spindle
image burned with imgburn at 16x (7-16x cav)

testing done with same s203b drive, only now with sb01 firmware

first test done with speed set to max:

second test done with speed set to 4x:

dramatically better pie at 4x. I’m pretty new to pie/pif. Is this more likely indicative of ritek f16 being no good beyond ~12x burn, or because I’m using the samsung to do the testing instead of a “known” burner? I suppose I could answer this question just as easily myself by repeating a few burns at 8x max and 12x max and see what happens, but I’ve got nothing that needs to be burned at the moment.

pif looks high compared to what I see from other people. but I did a quick test and it seemed to play ok in the wii.

burned full 4482mb and tested with samsung sh-s203b sb01
ridata brand ritek f16 dvd+r 16x bought from newegg in a 100pk spindle
burned using “create disc” in nero cd-dvd speed at 8x (6-8x z-clv)

test done at 8x:

test done at 16x:

looks like these discs are decent if burned at 8x instead of 16x? (sorry I’m still learning)

BTW, thanks Arachne for fixing my stuff.

LG GSA-H62L (DL00), 4276 MB
Burned @ 8x with ImgBurn
MID: RITEK R05

Sold as “TDK 16x DVD+R” in 50-pc. spindle

Average jitter is relatively high, so I did not bother to report high-speed scans of this media. Only the TRT and the 4x scan is shown.
