I only bought it because Amazon wrote this is Ritek (and not MBI)

EDEKA 16x DVD+R / RITEK F16

Burned with Pioneer BDR-209EBK @ 16x

#313

Looks like RITEK F1(6) continues to be the real deal for price-performance (burn quality) of MID’s in current production. Assuming your drive can handle them, of course (that has improved a lot in past 5 years, surprisingly).

The LG don´t know this media and use a standard-strategy. In this case it don´t work

I sometimes get speed downs with Ritek F16 at the end , too. From 16x to 12x
Maybe 16x is too fast for it and with 12x from the beginning spikes and errors could be avoided.

#320

Yep, next time I try lower speeds.

Looks like some writers slow down if the PI-values getting higher

The 215 don´t slow down, and it´s one of the msot sensible writer I ever had. 16x sometimes work, but it overspeed a lot of media and with 18x or 20x the 215 mostly slow down to 16x, 12x or 8x

Media: SONY DVD+R Made in Taiwan
MID: RITEKF16
Recorder: Pioneer BDR-209EBK
Recording speed: 8x
Recorded: 2017
Scanned 2017

Definitely Sony got high grade Ritek media. Not only that the scan result looks much better than the Maxell equivalent but the physical appearance of the disc itself is of a much higher quality (edges, top side, easy readable stamper code…).

But is it really worth double the price compared to Maxell?

Disc quality, reliable?
