These are SATA drives with multiple memory chips working in parallel. Their read/write speeds are in the 40-80 MB/s range, quite comparable to 7200 RPM drives. Although these drives are targeted at notebooks, they make good bootable/temp/swap drives for desktops too. Having a RAM disk [or a flash disk like this] is like flying first class. It make an enormous difference, especially if you put all temporary folders and the page file on one. At $200 or $600 they are also a great bargain compared to SDRAM-based disks of this size.
