Ripping an exact audio copy to hard disk

vbimport

#1

I have a mixed audio CD with several tracks which are mixed\overlayed to make one track. I can’t find aprogram
to perform the task of copying the entire CDs … rather than digitally extracting individual songs (tracks) other then
Exact Audio Copy, can anybody help?

#2

ImgBurn should be able to do that.

#3

I think that also EAC can rip an audio cd as one file, plus it can add a cue file so you can burn the file correctly (or listen to it with foobar2000).

:iagree:, and so does CueTools Ripper (CueTools)…FYI with foobar2k you can import audio CD to play, select all tracks->right-click->convert-> tick 'Merge all tracks into one output file…

#5

EAC can rip a CD either as a single LARGE file or as individual tracks, but even individual tracks can be burned by EAC back to “synchronized” gap-less playback.

EAC works flawlessly, but there builds have multiple viruses in them right now, try performing a scan on any build, i am to scared to try EAC.

0nee i may have to try Cue Tools if nobody has an answer, but i bought Nero 9, downloaded ImgBurn, and EAC which has viruses, so i am reluctant to keep downloading programs.

Hi Chala , Did you find a copy of EAC that tested virus free for you ?
I’ve never had a problem with a virus from EAC .
If you found a copy was EAC able to do the rip the way you wanted it ?

#14

I’ve never had a problem with Viri and EAC.

I’ve had AVG give me a warning when I went to download a fresh copy (a few weeks ago), but that’s only because someone reported to AVG that there was a virus in EAC.

I’ve also seen a complain that EAC phishes for information (I.E. the Accurip data base requires your e-mail adress) to which I say “Oh PLEASE!”

AVG doesn’t report that NOW

I JUST (in the last hour) downloaded another copy to a system I’m setting up for a relative.

Nor does Microsoft Security Essentials. (installed BEFORE EAC)

EAC COULD contain “viri” as could any downloaded software depending on WHERE you download it from.
the problem is likely your chosen SOURCE not EAC.

Download it HERE:
http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/resources/download/

As a note, I’m ALWAYS suspicious of virus reports when someone reports MULTIPLE viruses (unlikely) and doesn’t NAME the specific
virus and doesn’t NAME the anti-virus software that allegedly
detected it.

if all those conditions are the case then it is a RUMOR and I want to wash someone’s mouth (and/or keyboard) out with soap for having repeated them,.

PLEASE don’t repeat virus reports without a source, method of detection or name of the virus.

Oh, they have fixed that?
MSE (earlier versions) reported some trojan in the installer. It was the “Ebay Toolbar” option in the installer package that triggered this (false) alarm.

Michael

#16

I would still like to know if Chala was able to do a successful rip .
If not I was going to suggest trying IsoBuster.
I know it can rip a CD but I don’t have any “one track” CDs to test with.

Now that you mention it I saw the trojan warning some time ago, 8-10 weeks ago

but I didn’t see it in a Dell I’m setting up as a net surfer computer for my aunt & uncle and I installed EAC after getting Win Securitiy Essentials
working updated and doing a full scan jus to see if it would pop a warning.

It didn’t.

Mabey it’s the Full version of EAC that trips on that (false) warning…

I don’t feel like spending $39 to determine that for sure…

What “Full Version” for 39 USD? I smell scam.

Michael

#19

I thought EAC is freeware .I wasn’t aware there was a paid “Full version”. Let us know where you saw this.
@ Chala , Please give us here at myce a report on your rip results. What finally worked.

Use CloneCD, set the audio read rate at “best slowest” that will work fine.

To get technical no true way of making 1:1 copy of any optical media w/ consumer level drives, though the user data can be 1:1 but not other stuff
