Ridisc Xtreme

Hello to the forum
I’m new here, so I hope to make the post in the right place
I ordered 100 DVD-R Ridisc Xtreme and they arrived, but on the dvds or the package they were in there isn’t written “Xtreme” or “AAA+”. I checked a dvd with dvdinfo and it gave me these informations:

Is it really a Ridisc Xtreme DVD?

I used DVDIdentifier and it gave me this

Anyway I can’t burn these dvd at all, I have an lg gsa 4082b updated with the a208 firmware (original). Why is this?

prolly because there from this stable m8

Thanks for the answer first of all.
I read the post you liked me and from what I’ve understood G05 is very bad, it isn’t even comparable with G04, right?
I heard that G05 wasn’t at the same quality of G04, but I didn’t think they were so bad… :frowning:
So what can I do now? I’ve bought 100 of these discs, trusting the ridisc/ritek branch, as I’ve bought 100 dvd ridisc ritek g04 and they were very good.
I tried to update the dvd-burner’s firmware and even Nero, and not it gives me a new message error: “Could not perform end of Disc-at-Once”…
Can I try other things or have I to change the disks?

Should be the right stuff.

I have my doubts about the AAA+ grade thing though as I have these discs here and there is a poor one now and then, about every 4th or 5th disc or so becomes poor near the end.

Btw Ridisc is not a brand owned by ritek or affiliated by ritek. RiDisc is owned by E-net Distribution and you will find both CMC Magnetics and ritek manufactured media under this brand.

Yes I know, but the dvdinfo shows clearly that the dvd are ritek g05 manifactured, unless they put fake data in the blank dvd.
My doubts come from the fact that I can burn evrey ridisc ritek g04 without problems with my burner, while I can’t even start burning the new ridisc ritek g05 which arrived me today! I can’t understand if it’s a burner problem or a media problem.
I can’t believe that the quality of the ridisc g05 is so bad I can’t even start the burning!!!

Have you tried using a different burning software? Or updating your present version?

Or getting someone else to try out a disc? Maybe its something weird going on with your computer.

Or, you could speak to the people who sold you the discs and see what they could do to help.

Final thing to try is to sell them on ebay

Its ritek g05 dye but as to what grade down the dye food chain is anyones guess, stick to riteks own brands, ive burnt 1000’s of traxdata printables 8x ritek g05 without 1 single problem

look at the two medias below both are advertised as ritek yet only one is labeld as ritek which are made by ritek the other no labeled ones are probebly e-net rubbish.

Impressive, but those ads didn’t have the dvdidentifier info with them, while I posted the codes here and OC-Freak said the dvd should be originally manifactured by Ritek. Anyway I tried to burn the dvd in another os (windows 98, while I use xp usually) and the result was the same, not to mention I tried to burn the dvds with Alchohol, with a failure as well. At this point I’ll try to burn them on a benq burner, if it fails too they’re the dvds, if it will be successufull then ritek g05 and lg burner are totally incompatible.

yes they do, not the full code from dvdidentifier, but R03 which is the dye used.

The seller sent me this link:

In which there is a table which shows some difficulties in writing for my dvd burner model with the g05 dye. What do you think about it?

R03 is not the dye !! FOr the xx-th time MID= not dye !!!

4 Additional things.

1 Ritek g04 wasn’t that good as most people claime.
2 RITEKG05 support is less good.
3 The media is genuine ritek ! However the quality is unknown. In other words the media could have the codes and be made by the people who own the code but still have some problems.

4 Try it on the Benq. If 2 drives fail then contact your supplier. From good media I do expect excellent support if something got screwed.

I burned a dvd on a benq burner succussefully, so there is an incompatibility between my burner and the dvds. :frowning:
I’ll try with a pioneer in the coming days… but there shouldn’t be any problem at this point with the other unit too. I’m just too angry…

Bottom line: DON’T SUPPORT E-NET PRODUCTS!!! Go with Traxdata if you want reliable Ritek G05 media.

Agree with you about E-NET, but you are joking about Traxdata, right?

Traxdata is A Grade Ritek and doens’t use any B, C or Down grade media. They cost a penny or two more but they are the top end of the Ritek quality chain.

How can I know the grade of the discs?

Ridisc is not a Ritek brand name, it is enets brand name. They sometimes sell CMC media with ridisc branding.
Ritek GO5 is top class disc, but stick to these brands: Ridata, Traxdata and Arita. These are Ritek’s own brands.
