Ricoh and Ridisc

Hi, which is the best choose between CMC MAG.D01 and RICOHJPND01 mediacode?

Thank you

I guess you mean DVD+R DL media?

Could you post the exact links please?

Yes, I mean DVD+R DL. This is the exact links:

Ricoh DVD+R DL (Prodye)

Ridisc DVD+R DL

Thank you

The RiDisc are B(or C)-grade CMC MAG D01 and therefore with a big chance very bad.

The Prodye are most likely fake RICOHJPN D01, but I don’t have experience nor info on them.
But I would really appreciate it if you get a 25pc cake of them and post the results :iagree:

Are fake ricoh usually decent? I mean, they are not Verbatim but are they better than ridisc?

P.s.
I have a Pioneer DVR-109: is it compatible with the various testing tools?

Most fake Ricohs are unusable.
But these Prodye DVD+R DLs could as well be genuine Ricoh media made by MBI because some of their other Prodye media is by MBI, too.

Thats only my guess though.

/edit
With such a old burner, you can almost forget anything else than Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DLs :frowning:

No, they are usually very bad. I would rather choose Ridisc media.

Unfortunately not. But you can use Transfer Rate Test or ScanDisc features in Nero DiscSpeed for basic quality testing.

Only for my personal culture:

Do you think that this other type of Prodye is good (and is really an A-Grade?)?

While I haven’t tested those particular discs myself, I would like to point out that “A-grade” and similar terms are almost always marketing lies.

(actually, saying both “marketing” and “lies” seems a bit redundant)

Could I have better results with these discs (ridisc or fake ricoh) burning them with one of this dvd-burners? http://club.cdfreaks.com/f96/pioneer-dvr-216bk-lite-ihas422-266914/#post2226232

…not all lies are marketing!
