Ricoh 12x media @ 32x

I have just found out that, while firmware WS05 has some issues to write Ricoh 12x media at all (tested 16x, 20x, 24x, 32x), firmware WS09 can write them at 32x without any problem (=> no C2 errors reported in Toshiba 1502).

This is the ATIP:

That seems par for the coarse  I’ve been burning Ricoh Platinum 8x at 32x with great success. SmartBurn says the 8x are good for 48x…

The Ricoh 8x burned at 32x are reported to be error free in Nero scandisk , read through my LiteOn 4815W (vos4) and Toshiba S-DM 1502 (1816). I don’t have WSES so don’t know what they look like through that ??

In this day & age of super high speed media seems that those who have stock piles of low speed 8x , 12x are dumping at bargain prices… I bought 500 Ricoh 8x for $20 US at a computer show…glad I did

Will look for some  Ricoh 12x

Platinum sells Ricoh media over there? Wow! Here, they only sell DST, PostTech and other terrible crap which require a Plextor 12x or 24x (the ones which the best crap disc support I know) to get something readable…

No probs with Ricoh burning @ 32x here, either. Almost as good as the “ancient” Kodak Gold…
