Thanks Quema34 you some it up nicely. The problem is that people are being forced into paying large sums of money to the RIAA when the evidence against them is none existent or very weak. When the RIAA are forced into the court room they are forced to admit they have no ‘real’ evidence to support there claims but the problem is people are paying them money to stay out of court which means the RIAA is just frightening and intimidating people into paying them money with no real evidence of them causing wrong doing. Where in the world is this not wrong by law?

exactly the problem, LastStand! When the lawyers say it’s just an IP address, but they have to ‘ask’ to see the defendant’s HDD in order to ‘get’ the evidence, this is bogus. Of course, the intimidation factor is a problem anywhere, because if you know you don’t have the money or don’t think you can get a lawyer to defend you, you might feel between a rock and a hard place very quickly. :c
